We have two separate plants located on our property. All foods that have our name on it are made and packaged by us - no third party contractors.

Can I feed my puppy Legacy? Yes. All of our Legacy formulas are All Life Stage. Legacy is appropriate to feed beginning at 4 weeks and older.
What is the expiration date on my bag of Legacy? Each bag of Legacy is freshness stamped. This can be located on the back of the bag. Legacy has a one-year shelf life from the manufacturing date. This shelf life is typical for dog food preserved naturally with vitamin E. Once you open the bag, it’s impotant to use the food within 45 days to maintain its freshness and quality. We also recommend you keep the bag sealed tight when not using. Also keep it in a dry, cool space to control the ambient environment around the bag.
Why do you use various meat meals? Meals (chicken meal, lamb meal, turkey meal, etc.) are the dehydrated concentrate of fresh meat. Its concentrated and free from by-products. The benefit of a meal is that it retains it weight and mass through the cooking process and results in more animal protein in the finished or 'as fed' ingredients of the kibble. Its important to know that ingredients are listed on the bag prior to cooking so when the ingredients are cooked, the water content will evaporate and result in less of the raw ingredient on a weight basis. By using a concentrated and dehydrated form pf the animal protein, we assure its weight is retained before and after cooking. It means a higher level of true meat in every bag of Legacy.
Can I mix up the Legacy formulas to provide some variety? Absolutely yes! Legacy formulas are consistent in terms of ingredients and the manufacturing process. The primary difference - within our maintenance diets - is the animal protein source. This allows a rotational approach to your pets dietary routine which does provide variety.
Are all Legacy formulas low glycemic? Yes. The complex carbohydrates we utilize are all inherently low GI versus alternatives such as potatoes, tapioca, corn or rice. Our carbohydrate ingredients are high in soluble and insoluble fibers that help slow down digestion and provide a slower release of nutrients into the bloodstream thereby mitigating blood sugar spikes.
Are any of the ingredients used in Legacy from outside North America? It is our mission to source as local as possible on every ingredient. However, sometimes we must go a little further for the right ingredient. The only exceptions for ingredients sourced outside N.A. is our lamb (New Zealand) and vitamin pre-mix (Europe and Australia).
